My last post as a Seondary Education student

This is my last post as a Secondary Education student, here it finishes a very nice period of my life.

I think next year I will continue posting new articles and the activities we do in class.

My reflection on this year

This year has been full of new experiences, new information and new knowledge. I have had to make so many decisions about my future and  I also did the FCE that is very important .

It’s been a year in which I’ve had to work very hard but I’m happy with the results. This is also my last year of ESO so it finishes a period of time and next year will start one very different. I think I will miss the way of working of the ESO.

I hope next year will be a nice experience!

A special event

“FESTA MAJOR” IN LLEIDA

Every spring, there’s an incredible holidays in my hometown of Lleida: the “Festa Major” of May. This celebration is because the Sant Anastasi. This is a spring celebration. It’s in honour of the patron saint of Lleida. It always takes place on the 11^th of May.

These holidays are very interesting because of the wide range of activities the city offers. There is a leaflet with all the timetables for you to organize unforgettable days. There are activities for everyone, from the youngest to the oldest ones.

Some of the activities are “gegants”, “correfocs”, the flower battle, the fireworks and the night concerts. My favourite activity is the “correfocs” because you feel the fire so close, the smell of the gunpowder and the beats of the drums... it’s just a feeling that can be missed! My second favourite activity is the night concerts because in Camps Elisis, the place where they take place, is full of friends. There are concerts till the sunrise so you can spend all the night dancing!

The “Festa Major” of Lleida is an incredible experience. You can’t miss the opportunity to be in this holiday!

Natural Hazard Newsreader

With a new teacher that we had for some weeks we did a report of a natural disaster and Alba, Mar and me chose to do it about a real tsunami that took place in 2004.

This is the 14th year after a devastating tsunami that happened in India. We have gone there to explain you what happened and how are the people doing to recover their lives.

Native American's Digital Profile

In class we've been working on Native Americans, how did they live, how was their culture, what was their religion... and as a final product we chose  two famous Native Americans and we did some social networks for them.
In my group we chose Pocahontas and Red Cloud.

Comparing pictures

To practice for the  FCE we did a speaking comparing two pictures.

Should we use public transport?

We have been working on opinion essays and I decided to do my opinion essay about public transport. What do you think about it?

In my opinion, using public transport is an easy way to contribute to the fight against pollution and global warming. There’s no doubt that if everyone would use public transport instead of using their own car, we would notice an important change against these problems. Some people think that going by their own cars is much easier. However, despite the comfort of cars, I strongly believe that we can do a little effort for our planet.

Firstly, the increasing of pollution in our planet is a problem that we have to try to solve. People are always complaining about the difficulty of doing these changes to contribute, but using the public transport is not so difficult. It’s true that buses also pollute but they can carry much more people than cars can.

Secondly, using public transport is cheaper than all the money that we spend on cars such as petrol.  If you think that fighting against pollution is not so important, at least do it because you save money for yourself.

In conclusion, I really agree with the person that one day said “Leave the world better than you found it”. We have to try to change some easy things like using public transport instead of private one.

Valentine's Day

For Valentine's Day our teacher suggested us to write a valentine, that is a short poem about love.

What do you think about Valentine’s Day? Do you think that is a stupid day created to force people to buy things or do you think that it's nice to have a day about love?
